Panels! Panels! Panels!  More panels than you can shake a stick at and then some!  Anime Central 2001 offered a huge variety of panels galore featuring many esteemed Guests of Honor, noted fans, and industry representatives from the domestic anime kingdoms all heading healthy discussions on various exciting anime and manga-related topics ranging from new shows, fan activities, industry follow-ups, historical perspectives, and other forms of fan entertainment lasting all throughout the day.  Packed full of attendees, every single panel or activity offered something to learn from.  If only school or work meetings were this stimulating.

Voice Acting Workshop: (left to right) Steve Bennett, Amy Howard, Wendee Lee, and Lisa Ortiz discussed life outside of the voice acting studio, as curious fans got to know more about the realities of being diverse and dealing with personal time conflicts when becoming a voice actor.  Reminiscing credits among the attending celebrities included a long list of favorites everyone should know by now: Starblazers, Captain Tylor, Slayers, Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin, Handmaid May, new Akira, Love Hina, Digimon, Pokemon, Shinzo, Harlock Saga, Night of Galactic Railroad, and Twin Signal.
Bandai Entertainment: Representatives detailed a roadmap of cool releases like Outlaw Star TV compilations on DVD, good progress on box set for Cowboy Bebop, and no status yet on Escaflowne or Gundam Wing box sets. RETAS and LightWave demos: For those intrepid animators and artists hungry for cool digital tools, RETAS and LightWave were your sure bet to deliver high-quality animated works, with lecture given by developer Scott Frazier for RETAS and David Andrews for LightWave who demo'd and detailed each software's advanced tools for frame rendering multiple overlays, backlighting effects, and followups on additional power tools like PencilMan and QuickChecker.
