television broadcasting market as well as the fansub market with no
final word yet on successful titles. |
Fushigi Yuugi Fan Panel: With humorous
sidetracks into school uniforms that magically get repaired after being
torn up, panelists basically focused on the ever-popular characters,
various plots, and the manga vs. the anime. |

| Costuming Workshop: Moderated
by Prairie Rose Clayton, Big Fire, and a few other very spirited
cosplayers, young and experienced cosplayers listened carefully to
topics including taking volume measurements for proper fitting, finding
the best buttons, stiffening collars, finding good reference materials
online, securing good time to prepare for upcoming conventions, planning
for mistakes, dealing with budgets when buying costly fabrics, taking
advantage of clearance items, and daring to modify an old costume with
pride and skill. Detailed subjects on non-fabrics included
complications with facial makeup like various eyeliners and lipsticks
which require practice before putting on the matching wigs and jewelry. |

| Legend of the Galactic Heroes Fan
Panel: Moderated by bigtime LoGH fan, Hank Wong, ardent fans of
this amazing long-running series got a glimpse of the making of the show
from a video featuring interviews with Noboro Ishiguro and several
creative staff members including animators and character designers. |
The Matsumoto-verse: State of the
Empire: It's all about the Quest for Iskandar, great battle songs,
and the Wave Motion Gun as Bruce Lewis (left), Amy Howard (center), and
Dave Wilson (right) reminisced about the good old days when there was
just Harlock, Galaxy Express 999, the Gamilons, and the lovely Queen
Starsha. |
