Panels! Panels! Panels! More panels than you can shake a stick at and then some! AX2000 offered a huge four-day weekend variety of panels galore featuring many esteemed Guests of Honor, noted fans, and industry representatives from as far as Japan all heading healthy discussions on various exciting anime and manga-related topics ranging from new shows, fan activities, industry follow-ups, historical perspectives, and other forms of fan entertainment lasting well into the night. | Artists Unite! panel, moderated by Christian Hwang, focused on spreading the anime art style in and around the artist communities, how aspiring artists can rise to become professionals in the comics, game, and animation industry, and the main differences between the American and Japanese industry. Panelists were from Studio XD (Image Comics), Westwood Studios, and Dark Horse Comics. | Shoujo fan panel, moderated by Alex Lau, dipped into the romantic eccentricities of anime and manga stories written by women for the mainstream audience and offered insight into youthful relationships and graceful illustration differences. | |
