Katsucon 9 cast a bright spotlight for 2003 with a huge turnout of Guests of Honor from Japan and North America as well as a much larger turnout of excited fans.  With lots of special events just around the corner, it was hard to find time to hunker down and find time to see the Dealers Hall sometimes!  In this large 5 page section, we've got a great report of the Cosplay Competition Night along with some of the Awards!

One night in the Hellsing fort, Ceres and Victoria squabble while Alucard and Priest soul search for "someone who really understands" them and their personal needs.

UNBC's First Cosplay presented characters from Inuyasha with evil villains comically referring to the heroes as "Scooby Doo and Friends".
The Bridge of Death: Digimon tamers and a new villain duke it out.

Immortality!  But not quite!  Characters from Mortal Kombat duke it out on stage, X-the-Movie style, complete with ending pitiful hero hugging his brother's hacked head sequence.

Ugly Doll Production's presented characters from Final Fantasy 9: the evil clown bosses Zorn and Thorn and... pocky sticks!

Flashback to 1997, J-Rockers invade the Katsucon stage in protest, not knowing they just walked into an anime convention...  oops!

Well-known braindead characters from Fancy Lala, Fruits Basket, I'm Gonna be an Angel, and Vandread play a hilarious version of "Name that Anime Tune" and fail miserably causing the host to pop a few arteries...

It's a Duel of the Fiddles as those sexy bishounens from Gundam Wing performed the Gundam Hoe-Down, a Riverdance, a classical Nutcracker-style symphonic suite with ballet, Two-Mix rave dancing, Michael Jackson's Thriller, NSYNC's Bye Bye Bye, and much more that definitely brought the house down and had the audience giving a standing ovation!
