Packing in the attendees, every panel, event, or activity offered something to learn from, whether you were into the discussion subject or not, as shown below with a brief description of each session.  This weekend's explorations delve straight into the heart of current fandom that lies in the surging excitement of cosplay, reminiscing about all of 2001's awesome anime con circuit, as well as new and exciting venues to focus on for the next year.

Sugoi Con 2001
Panels and Events 4

Anime Game Show: Ryan Gavigan once again hosted the Game Show with questions probing the minds of contestants in the realms of character and mecha designs, plot details, naming anime tunes, haiku, and others as topics included the following: Nadia and Secret of Blue Water, Queen Millenia, Angel Links, Slayers, Gundam Wing, Robotech, Patlabor, Cowboy BeBop, Urusei Yatsura, Orange Road, Project A-Ko, Rayearth, Riding Bean, Ah! My Goddess!, Captain Harlock, Dirty Pair, Black Heaven, Outlanders, Video Girl Ai, Rose of Versailles, Child's Toy, Initial-D, Rurouni Kenshin, Supergal, Animation Runner Kuromi-chan, and many more.
Con Stories from Hell: Joined by a few other buddies with horrors stories to share, Neil Nadelman and Scott Frazier gave a quick recap of the year's best and worst anime convention trips, real or surreal: dealing with Otakon security, ultimate drunken con parties gone bananas at AX and Anime Central, cross-dressing as Princess of Canada in a state where it's illegal, mixing Haggus and Vodka into a Haggatini (Cory's story) at Anime USA, body-surfing otakus in the floods during Otakon's hydrant explosions, Amanda Winn Lee's flashing the audience and dropping Steve Bennett's shorts at Anime Central, lost hotel reservations, and countless other things that brings the insanity out in all of us.
Lame Anime: Dave Merrill and Neil Nadelman went back in time to those awful years we all try to forget when believe it or not, some anime was downright lame.  Highlights noted and quickly forgotten: King Arthur football uniforms in a mecha show, bad acting in Magnos, buddy mergers, Fantastic Adventures of Yohko, Fandora, bad colloquial translations, culture shock, and lots more horror.  If not for humor, then at least for a reality check, and a great panel definitely not to be missed.
Additional Panels held throughout the weekend: Grumpy Old Anime Fans, Robotech 15th Anniversary, Scott Frazier on the Ropes, Obscure Anime, Inking, Fanfic and the Written World of Imagination MKII
