Yaoi-Con 2001
Panels and Discussion 2

Yaoi in Western Fandom: With a greater interest in filling the gaps of fan fiction, yaoi-themed novels have taken a first-class seating above yaoi manga as readers tend to prefer reading of imagery rather than seeing it.  Topics also included references to gay literature, awareness of numerous female writers, non-gendered characters, and the clearer direction of yaoi recognized as literary love stories rather than realistic slash novels.

Origami Workshop: From popular cranes to folding boxes and all sorts of objects, members relaxed to their hearts content by taking up pieces of colored and patterned paper and learning how to fabricate these subjects by traditional Japanese lessons.
Rurouni Kenshin Discussion: Combining martial arts with romance and artistic samurai glory, Rurouni Kenshin has a steady fan following as members shared their knowledge of recent episodes and collectibles gathered throughout their legendary journeys.
Art Demos with Doujinshi-ka: Drawing doujinshi is not just about drawing typical mainstream manga, as exemplified in this art demonstration by one of the experienced doujinshi manga artists.  Numerous forms must be studied and mastered to feature richer dynamics of human body forms and actions, as well as imagery and intricate details that would add to the visual emotions of a romantic scene, a clear effort that gives yaoi doujinshi a distinct look and feel.
Angels and Crosses: Religious Iconography in Manga: Brace for culture shock as members spoke about Japan's common parodies of worldwide traditions and sanctuaries often see in anime and manga.  Although it may not go well with some religious groups, by no means does it intend to harm or criticize anyone's beliefs, but it definitely adds another level of exciting imagery to many popular titles such as Sailor Moon, Angel Sanctuary, Weiss Kreuz, and countless others.
