Welcome to Yaoi World, folks!  Just sit tight, lean back, and relax, as LLNN takes you on a ride through the miscellaneous sights and sounds of Yaoi-con 2001!  But wait, if you REALLY want SHOCK, hold on tighter and check out the Yaoi Fun Time page!

Yaoi-Con 2001
Total Yaoi Experience

Show me those Rules of Conduct!  Such as the Samurai legends, Yaoi-con made it clear to the public that this was no ordinary anime or manga convention and things would be run a little differently here with respect to those who have real interest in yaoi vs. those who aren't quite old enough to understand exactly what it is all about.
It's Registration, Con-Ops, and Volunteer Services all wrapped in one!  With an definite eye on the crowds, staffers made sure everyone had a splendid time during the festive yaoi weekend.
Archive journalists from Japan Comiket were on hand to interview Guests and fans as well as record most of the panels throughout the weekend.  Obviously, the Japanese were impressed with Americans embracing yaoi.
Artists tackled the boards all day with tons of sketches and signatures practicing what they tend to do best: Yaoi.  Maybe not hot yaoi, but definitely enough to fill up the entire table and then some!
Cosplay fans of Malice Mizer (J-Rock) showed off those highly polished stylish boots and shoes for the crowds as the Cosplay Contest time closed in.  And we didn't forget that J-Rock fans could watch hours of their favorite Gackt, Malice Mizer, Dir En Gray, Larc en Ciel, and many more in "Visual Shoxx!: A J-Rock Experience" featured in the Video Room.
A welcome member of Yaoi-con, this furry friend kept the artists in the Art Show a lot of company and managed to attract LLNN attention as well.  Say "California Cheese!" for the camera!
If you haven't taken a look at the Yaoi-Con 2001 Program Book lately, maybe you should!  The people behind this publication definitely put countless hours of work into it as shown in the abundance of helpful content, exacting use of typography, detailed San Francisco restaurant and shopping guides, excellent Guest interviews, and everything you need to enjoy an informative and educational journey through Yaoi-con 2001!.
Packed with additional yaoi-related reference materials, free copies of Colleen Doran's excellent work can also be enjoyed by registered members.  After all, this convention is all about doujinshi, novels, and the fine art of fiction, so what better convention necessities to offer than more neat reading pleasures!
And of course, atop the quaint Restaurant on the Bridge, LLNN captured the essence of flavorful yaoi atmosphere and relaxing weekend alongside spirited fans with a nice cup of herbal tea.
