Sakura-con 2008!

Welcome to another edition of Linus Lam Network News for 2008!  This news report covers our trip to Sakura-con 2008 for a huge weekend of anime and manga enjoyment and a whole lot more for 2008!  Held at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle, Washington over the weekend of March 28th-30th, 2008, Sakura-con 2008 saw lots of attendees ready to party on with a bunch of dedicated artists, live performances, and plenty of opportunities to hang out with fellow anime and manga fans. Our exciting trip to Sakura-con 2008 starts here!  Coverage you can count on, here at Linus Lam Network News!

Highlights: Various live programming events kept the attendees well-covered throughout the weekend. Big events included the Masquerade Ball, Neko Dance, Cosplay Contest, Anime Music Videos, Cosplay Chess, Karaoke, Tea Ceremony, and Guest panels.  Guests of Honor included Vic Mignogna, Derek Stephen Prince, ketchup mania, The Slants, ALI PROJECT, Roland Kelts, Todd Haberkorn, Aki Tsunaki, Caitlin Glass, Brina Palencia, Toshihiro Kawamoto, M. Alice LeGrow, Nobuteru Yuuki, Yutaka Izubuchi, Hiroshi Nagahama, Hiroki Kikuta, Brandon Graham, Jake Myler, Joshua Ortega, Penny Arcade, Wes Hartman, Robby Bevard, J.L. Anderson, Yuji Shiozaki, and Yuna Kagesaki.  Panels and workshops included functions like Anime Cons on a Budget, J-Rock, Making Video Games, Origami Workshop, Using Photoshop to Create Anime, Roleplaying 101, Anime ConFessionals, Anime Filk, Advanced Character Creation, Fanfic Bedtime Stories, Gaia Online, Drawing Manga, Making Anime Websites, World of Visual Novels, Animation Directors, Music Composition, Character Design, Mechanical Design, Animation Cel Artwork Trading, Trading Figures, and lots more.
Cosplay: This year's trip to Sakura-con saw lots of inspired costumes from numerous anime and manga characters and more! Chart-topping displays for this year included characters from Phoenix Wright, Final Fantasy, D. GrayMan, Kingdom Hearts, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, Gurren Lagann, Bleach, Death Note, One Piece, and much more! Miscellaneous: From Artists Alleys to Art Shows, Anime Music Videos to casual conversations with esteemed Guests of Honor, shopping inside the Dealers Hall to participating numerous panels, you can always find something to do at Sakura-con.
