Sakura-con 2005
hosted its return of THE WIRED to nice and spacious console/PC gaming rooms at
the Hilton and Marriott Hotel. Numerous games were available for all kinds of consoles such as
Microsoft XBOX, Sony PS2, Nintendo GameCube, and Sega Dreamcast. From first-person shooters,
traditional fighting games, musical dancing games, continuous screenings of AMVs set to dance
music, and much more, THE WIRED had a continuous line of attendees checking out
the room and trying their hands at the latest and greatest games and getting in on the big
tournaments held throughout the weekend. Featured tournaments this year included Guilty Gear XX, Soul Calibur II,
Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, and Super Smash Brothers Melee. Sakura-con also hosted
additional rooms for the CCG and RPG groups with game tournaments featuring: .hack, Anime Fairy Meat, Bubblegum Crisis, Dragon Ball, Duel Masters, Inu-Yasha, Mechwarrior, Navia Dratp, Record of Lodoss War, Sailor Moon, and Yu-Gi-Oh. |
