The most popular parts of the anime convention scene are the panels and discussion groups that speak out for unique interests pertaining to the hobbyist in all of us.  This year at SakuraCon 2004, numerous panels packed in the crowds to listen in and emphasize fan participation.  In this section of the convention environment, we'll show you some of the exciting panels to be at throughout the busy weekend schedule.

Yoshitoshi ABe and Yasuyuki Ueda: ABe YoshiToshi (center left) and Yasuyuki Ueda (center right) spoke about their latest releases at their Guest Focus panel.  The session included directorial and character design background work on shows, how to get into the industry, latest developments in the anime world, and much more.

Twisted Anime: It doesn't get any crazier than this!  Subjects of weird anime and inspired cosplay skits included parodies, gender-bending, poking fun at characters in shows such as Trigun and Sailor Moon, complaints from background characters, and much more.

Parents Guide to Anime: Benefits of watching anime pointed out to parents in this panel included reading skills improvements, increased vocabulary, foreign language and art appreciation, being able to deal with complex characters, technology skills awareness, and musical appreciation.

Inuyasha: Trying to translate a more traditional type of manga or anime series for both the hardcore fans and newbies in the mainstream anime audiences is a hard task indeed.  Difficulties pointed out for Inuyasha included translating jokes, explaining cultural differences, slang inaccuracies, and more.

Enjoying Your Cosplay with Bakazoku: Representatives of this amazing cosplay troupe were on hand to discuss their latest cosplay endeavors and funny cosplay experiences that stay true to the spirit of cosplay, skit presentations, and balancing old school anime with the latest releases to keep cosplay fans really excited.
Elfquest: An American Manga: For the elfquesters, panelists were on had to talk about the latest feature quests, intros on the characters and background reviews, highlights of several stories, details about the fascination with American fantasy, and side stories that spoofed Tiny Toons, Smurfs, Star Wars, and much more.
