Comic-Con International 2005 was once again host for numerous opportunities for comics
veterans and budding artists to get together and get down to business in sunny San Diego. Portfolio reviews by professional comic artists and industry publishers
collected in the huge Autograph Area, renaissance era tournaments entertained the attendees on the upper deck, occasional advertising by bizarre costumers for the
latest in comics and cinema screenings were on the rise, and of course, there is always the casual San Diegan that provides a little musical flavor to the convention

Special
Events and Additional Programming: Comic-con International is by far the largest comic books convention
where you can see some of your favorite artists, Hollywood celebrities, and numerous luminaries under one big roof. Big convention extras for this year included
autograph sessions a mile long (well OK, we exaggerated!), Inkpot Award Presentations, Eisner Awards (considered the "Oscars" of the comics industry), meeting
with Director David Cronenbreg (History of Violence), live performance by Tenacious D (comedians and musicians Jack Black and Kyle Gass), The Perfect Crime with special
introduction by Bruce Campbell, 14th Annual Comics Arts call for abstracts and artwork critiques, behind the scenes look at The Chronicles of Narnia, cast autograph
session of The 4400, Comic-con International Independent Film Festival, Anime screenings around the clock in numerous theaters, and a lot more. Films for the avid
cinema fans showed marathon runs of The Incredibles, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Hellboy, Blade: Trinity, The Punisher, Nightmare
on Elm Street, Army of Darkness, Spiderman 2, Elektra, Napoleon Dynamite, This is Spinal Tap, Dr. Strangelove or How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, Lilo
and Stitch, and Muppets Wizard of Oz.
