Neko Con 2002 held a wide array of fan-focused panels and discussions delving into all sorts of interesting debates about the ongoing life and times in the Japanese animation industry, cultural awarenes, and much more.  Captured here are just a select few panels LLNN was able to report in the very limited time attending.

Psychology and Sociology: Panelists gave a critical assessment of anime in society today as they spoke about top issues concerning the boundaries of pornography, artistic freedoms, cultural differences, mythology in anime, racism and religions, and Japanese perception of American fandom.

Fan Fiction Summit: Panelists from all area of fan fiction spoke out about the latest status in the world of writing and reading great novels of our time.  Topics covered use of Japanese script, language flow, bizarre stories, naming conventions, resources found on fanfiction.net, rating systems with it comes to yaoi fanfics, reader safety, honors system, and much more.

Web Design: Everyone knows how to build a website, but how do you build a good website?  Topics of interest to website designers delved into website promotion, style sheets, frames, menus, accessibility, html standards, background art, and numerous pet peeves about bad habits and improper use of content.
Web Comics: Web comic artists gathered on stage to talk about the latest trends and interests in this massively popular trend.  Topics covered free vs. subscription-based web comics, grabbing audience attention, parodies of fans and conventions, tackling the art of publishing speed, character development, and keeping comics independent and personal.
