The Costume Contest started with a flurry of introductions of the Viz
Communications team who judged the costumes. The Anime Lounge was also the gathering
place for the following workshops and demonstrations: Drawing and Coloring with COPIC Markers: hosted by Ken O'Connell, artist, animator and Professor of Art at the University of Oregon, who led a hands-on workshop teaching the basics of colors, multiliners, and airbrush attachments for illustrations.
Bay Area Anime Clubs: Representatives from numerous Bay Area Anime clubs were on hand to assist fans in tuning into upcoming club events in and around the anime community. And from Sony:
AIBO Demonstrations showing the latest electronic pet along with Sony Music Imports with their latest offering of J-pop releases.
