of Linus Lam Network News for 2008! This news report covers our trip
to Kawaii-kon 2008 for a huge weekend of anime and manga enjoyment and
a whole lot more for 2008! Held at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaii
over the weekend of April 18 - 20, 2008, Kawaii-kon 2008 saw lots of attendees ready to party on with a bunch of
dedicated artists, live performances, and plenty of opportunities to hang
out with fellow anime and manga fans. Our exciting trip to Kawaii-kon

|Highlights: Various live programming events kept the attendees well-covered throughout the weekend. Big events included
Anime Music Videos, Masquerade, Karaoke, Live Art Auction, Lolita Fashion Show, Mari Iijima's concert, The Emeralds Concert, Anime Quiz Show, and Buma's and DJ Hem's Booty Shake dance.
Guests of Honor included Colleen Clinkenbeard, Robert & Emily DeJesus, The Emeralds, Tiffany Grant, Mari Iijima, Vic Mignogna, Yuko Miyamura, Monica Rial, Rikki Simons, Tavisha Wolfgarth-Simons, and David Williams.
Panels and workshops included Anime Cel Collecting, AMV Creation, Autograph Sessions, Industry Side Chats, Life as an Artist, Video Game Industry, Evolution of Comics, Writing for Anime, Cosplay Theatre, Anime Old School,
and lots more.
This year's trip to Kawaii-kon
saw lots of inspired costumes from numerous anime and manga characters and more! Chart-topping displays for this year included characters from Bleach,
Death Note, Melancholy of Haruhi, Final Fantasy, Naruto, Ouran Host Club, and much more!

|Miscellaneous: From Artist Alleys to Art Shows, Anime Music Videos to casual conversations with esteemed Guests of Honor, shopping inside the Dealers Hall to participating numerous panels, you can always find something to do at Kawaii-kon. A couple of additional functions included a Cosplay Maid and Butler Cafe, Manga Library, Iron Artist competitions, and more.|
