Some of the most popular parts of the anime convention scene are the panels and discussion groups that speak out for unique interests pertaining to the hobbyist in all of us.  This year at Japan Town Anime Faire, fans could attend panels and meet Guests and chat with fellow fans about subjects in the anime and manga world.

Carol Jacobanis: Guest of Honor Carol Jacobanis has an exciting history of voice work and she discussed her background and studio work with fans.  Topics included local voice work for VAs, main VA hubs in Los Angeles, Texas, and New York, voice work on Utena, Shadow Girls, Boogiepop Phantom, Kare Kano, and much more.

Digital Art: Artist for PMBQ talked about how digital art has become more accepted into the comics arena, making work a lot easier and quicker for new and veteran artists.  Topics included use of layers and filters in Photoshop, use of Wacom tablets, resources within the online artists community, comparing vector graphics to pixel graphics, and more.

AD Vision: Matt Greenfield was on hand to answer all the hot questions about ADV's exciting new lineup.  Topics featured the new Evangelion live-action film, how titles are being released at an ever-increasing rate, history of co-producint titles like BGC2040 and KaleidoStar, showing titles on cable networks like Adult Swim, Anime Network, and Cartoon Network, and much more.
Webcomic Artists: Veterans of the online art work gathered together to talk about their latest endeavors and how to get in on the art action.  Topics included fan responses to works like Queen of Wands and Tea Club, meeting at conventions, developing characters, breaking into print work, trials of hashing out a good story, balancing real life with putting out timely webcomic releases, and more.
