With a great centralized location like Japan Town, the Faire gathered in a nice crowd of attendees ready to enjoy the relaxing weekend of cosplay, gaming, and more.

Main Events

The Japan Town Temple Square was the perfect setting for hosting all the big events like the 
cosplay contest, guest announcements, photo gatherings and so forth.  JTAF Registration was situated 
just to the side, so attendees didn't miss out on any of the action.


Cosplay Contest: 3rd Place prizes were awarded to: Shaman King, Final Fantasy X-2 Lenne and Yuna, Tenchi from Tenchi Muyou, Zack from Dead or Alive, Jion MS-07, Ryosuke from Initial D, and Vandread.  2nd Place prizes were awarded to: Link with pony and Yuna from FFX.  1st Place prize of a DVD player was awarded to Royal Dragon Knight Freya from Final Fantasy 9.

 
Gaming Rooms were located in the Best Western Hotel.  Tabletop gaming included popular titles like Pokemon, YuGiOh, and Magic the Gathering.  Console gaming included titles like Dance Dance Revolution Max 6th mix, Tekken 4, Soul Caliber II, BeatMania II DX 6th Style, Pop 'N Music 8, Guilty Gear XX, and Lupin III.

Additional features of this year's Japan Town Anime Faire also included an anime screening rooms that played U.S. titles and fansubs.  Currently licensed U.S. titles included "Please Teacher!", "Ninja Scroll the TV series", "Read or Die" and much more.  Fansubs included "Rumic Theater", "Onegai Twins", and "Macross Zero".  The DOT Restaurant in the Radisson Miyako Hotel was prime location for a Saturday night dance that kept many lively attendees partying on well through the night.  A panel for the Guests of Honor was also available in the Radisson for fans to get acquainted with many who came to enjoy a casual anime weekend in sunny San Francisco.
Registration: Japan Town Anime Faire 2003 did quite well for its inaugural attendance of over 1,000 registered fans.
