Welcome to another edition of Linus Lam Network News for 2011!  This news report covers our trip to Fanime-Con 2011 for a huge weekend of anime and manga enjoyment and a whole lot more!  Held at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California over the weekend of May 27-30, Fanime-Con 2011 saw lots of attendees ready to party on with a bunch of dedicated artists, live performances, gaming events, cosplay fun, and plenty of opportunities to hang out with fellow anime and manga fans. Our exciting trip to Fanime-Con 2011 starts here!  Coverage you can count on, here at Linus Lam Network News!

Highlights: Various live programming events kept the attendees well-covered throughout the weekend. Guests of Honor included Tohru Furuya, Ryusuke Hamamoto, Gashicon, Seiji Mizushima, Takahiro Yoshimatsu, Fumio Iida, Mamoru Yokota, Ric Meyers, Gilles Poitras, Halko Momoi, Hiroyuki Yamaga, Flow, and Yuya Matsushita.  Big events included Autograph sessions, Charity Auction, Rum Party, Fanimaid Cafe, Anime Music Videos, Stage Zero Live Performances, Game Shows, Cosplay Contests, Swap Meet, Karaoke Contests, Dance Nights, and much more. Panels and workshops included functions like Katana workshop, Weapons Q&A, Bodycasting, Cosplay Cosmetology, Cosplay Photography, Making Cosplay Groups, Basic Cosplay Sewing, Wig Styling, Cosplay Photoshoots, Lolita Fashion Show, Anime Name That Tune, Gaia Variety Hour, Deviant Art Meetup, Pokemon DS Cafe, Anime and Manga for Grownups, Older Titles for Newer Fans, Bento 101, Building Gundam Models, Fan Fiction Writing Workshop, Pop-Fiction, Intro to Memes, Convention Survival Tips, Creating Graphic Novels, Girl's Guide to Gundam, Guilty Pleasures, University Anime Clubs, WOW for non-WOWed, How to Make Webcomics, Manga Clubs, Awesomely Bad J-Music Videos, Anime for Parents, Graphic Design for Manga, Amateur Voice Acting, Reporting Anime Conventions, Translating Anime and Manga, Steampunk in Anime, and lots more.
Cosplay: This year's trip to Fanime-Con saw lots of inspired costumes from numerous anime and manga characters and more! Chart-topping displays for this year included characters from Vocaloid, Panty and Stocking, Hetalia, Soul Eater, Final Fantasy, Princess Tutu, Star Driver, Bleach, Pokemon, Black Butler, and much more!
