Welcome to another edition of Linus Lam Network News for 2008!  This news report covers our trip to Fanime-con 2008 for a huge weekend of anime and manga enjoyment and a whole lot more for 2008!  Held at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California over the weekend of May 23rd-26th, 2008, Fanime-con 2008 saw lots of attendees ready to party on with a bunch of dedicated artists, live performances, and plenty of opportunities to hang out with fellow anime and manga fans. Our exciting trip to Fanime-con 2008 starts here!  Coverage you can count on, here at Linus Lam Network News!

Highlights: Various live programming events kept the attendees well-covered throughout the weekend. Big events included Cosplay Contest, Anime Music Videos, Karaoke, Black and White Ball, Game Shows, Cosplay Chess, and Guest panels. Guests of Honor included Maika Netsu, Hidenobu Kiuchi, Reuben Langdon, Dan Southworth, Richard Waugh, Carl Horn, Jonathan Osborne, Ric Meyers, Gilles Poitras, and Ryan Gavigan.  Panels and workshops included functions like Ball Jointed Dolls, Kimono Workshop, Japanese Pop / Rock Party, Japanese Culture in Anime and Manga, Intro to Yuri and Shoujo-Ai, Console Gaming, Otaku Business 101, Aimee Major's "Japan Ai", Cosplay Posing, JPop Express, Dress as a Geisha, Prop-making Tips and Techniques, How to Talk to Girls, Animated Story and Scripting, 3D CG for Anime, Anime Hell, Impossible Cosplay Structure, Resin Casting, Visual Novel Fan Translations, Developing an Anime Con, Why Girls Love Sentai, History of Anime Fandom, Butlet Cafes Exposed, Learn How to Animate Anime, Anime Fans Over 30, and lots more.
Cosplay: This year's trip to Fanime-con saw lots of inspired costumes from numerous anime and manga characters and more! Chart-topping displays for this year included characters from Gurren Lagaan, Phoenix Wright, Final Fantasy, Bleach, Naruto, Death Note, Kingdom Hearts, Vampire Knight, Haruhi, Persona 3, and much more! Miscellaneous: From Artists Alleys to Art Shows, Anime Music Videos to casual conversations with esteemed Guests of Honor, shopping inside the Dealers Hall to participating numerous panels, you can always find something to do at Fanime-con.  Various events included Maid Cafe, MusicFest, Stage Zero entertainment, Game Shows, Swap Meet, Tabletop Gaming, and much more.
