FanimeCon 2006 had a host of panels, discussion groups, classroom gatherings, industry sessions, and Guest Q&As to attend to throughout the weekend. Whether you were into voice acting or just wanted to chit chat with your favorite fan artists, the panels and discussions were a great way to educate yourself and see all the work that happens in the anime fan and industry communities.

Panels and Workshops

Voice Acting: Seasoned voice actors Takahiro Mizushima (Stellvia, Scrapped Princess) and Jonathan Osbourne (Bastard, Fist of the North Star) talked about many of their roles in voicing anime, from simple "walla" crowd sessions to the more dedicated character roles requiring lots of studio time.  If you've ever wanted to become a voice actor yourself and learn more from the VAs themselves, then this is where it's at!
USA Musume: They sing, they dance, and they make their own costumes!  This traveling troupe put on a few shows for the weekend but also found time to present a Q&A panel for the fans and newcomers.  USA Musume is based off of the insanely popular Morning Musume J-pop group in Japan, which does an incredible amount of various stage shows and music videos tuned towards the female audiences.

Additional panels and workshops held throughout the huge busy weekend included: Great Teacher Largo, Dollfie General, Dollfie Costume Creation, Game Fan-Translation, FanFiction, Gaia Online, Team Flex, How to Draw Manga, Otaku Improv, Evangelion, Animation Principles, Cel Painting, How to Talk to Guys, Kimba vs. Simba, Sex in Anime: Enough is Enough, Bootleg: Getting a Boot to the Head, Fanime BBS Gathering, Cosplay for Newbies, Orange Lounge Radio, Pocky: The Gateway Snack, Japan: If Hello Kitty Had a Mouth, How to Make Feathered Wings, Auto Tuning 101, Cosplay for the Real Body, Queen of Caps, Drawing with a Tablet, Top 50 Greatest DDR Freestyle Performances, Beginning Cosplay, Advanced Cosplay: Armor-Making, Asian Films and Eastern Cinema, Snafu Comics: Software Tutorial, and much more!
