Welcome to another edition of Linus Lam Network News for 2008!  This news report covers our trip to Dragon-con 2008 for a huge weekend of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror enjoyment and a whole lot more for 2008!  Held at the Hyatt Regency, Marriott Marquis, and Hilton Towers in Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend of September 4-7, 2008, Dragon-con 2008 saw lots of attendees ready to party on with a bunch of dedicated artists, live performances, and plenty of opportunities to hang out with fellow geeks and nerds! Our exciting trip to Dragon-con 2008 starts here!  Coverage you can count on, here at Linus Lam Network News!

Highlights: Various live programming events kept the attendees well-covered throughout the weekend. Countless Hollywood celebrities and industry representatives attend every year to bask in the glow of ultimate geekdom only Dragon-con can own.  Main events included Drum Circles, 7th Annual Dragon-con Parade, Sword Fighting demonstrations, Awards Banquiets, 11th Annual Dawn Look-a-like Contest, Dragon-con Cabaret, Masquerade, Wolf Pack Elite Party, and lots more.  Live performances play from morning to late at night and included Atlanta Radio Theatre Company, Cemetery Surfers, Crossed Swords, CruxShadows, The Great Luke Ski, Hellblinki Sextet, Lips Down on Dixie, Mighty Rasilon Art Players, Peelander-Z, Voltaire and many more.  Fan tracks included numerous demonstrations and panels involving American Sci-Fi, Anime/Manga, Animation, British Sci-Fi, Costuming, Electronic Frontiers, Filking, Film Festivals, Video Gaming, Star Wars, Podcasting, Wheel of Time, Robotics, Sci-Fi and Fantasy Literature, Stargate, Tolkien's Middle Earth, Star Trek, Whedon's Universe, Young Adult Literature, and much more.
Costumes: This year's trip to Dragon-con saw lots of inspired costumes from numerous sci-fi and fantasy characters and more! Chart-topping displays for this year included characters from Batman, Ironman, anime/manga, Pirates of the Caribbean, Superman, and much more! Miscellaneous: There's always something to do when you strut your stuff into the Dragon-con Comics Artists Alley, Walk of Fame, Film Festivals, Dealers Halls, Exhibitor Halls, Art Show.  In the mood for gaming?  Dragon-con still boasts one of the largest gaming events in the US including Collectible Card Games, Board Gaming, Live-Action Role-Playing, PC Gaming, Miniatures Gaming, Traditional RPG Gaming, and more.  Hungry?  The Food Court kept many attendees filled up on food and drink.  The hotels have finished remodeling.  Ready to party?  There's always time for the late-night parties that seem to last well into the early hours of the morning every morning.  There's just so much to do!
