LLNN Coverage of DragonCon 2003


The DragonCon 2003 Costume Contest was hosted by actors George Takei and Walter Koenig of Star Trek fame, judged by celebrities from the movie NeverEnding Story and Marvel/DC Comics, and guarded closely by Stormtroopers. Performances and walk-ons were judged by craftsmanship and presentation with notable bests. Definitely an experience you could only capture at DragonCon!

From the children's category, entries included: Super Mario, Spike from Cowboy BeBop, Lara Croft from Tomb Raider, Star Trek Starfleet, Red Song, Gambit from X-Men, Princess Mononoke, Flower Fairy Relm, Padme Skywalker, Vampire Slayer, Starflet Cadet, Arwin from Lord of the Rings, and Princess Serenity from Sailor Moon. From the adult's category, entries included: Balrog from Lord of the Rings, Monsters Inc., MindPimp, Jason, Prince Ziesore from Star Wars, Yuna from Final Fantasy X, Samurai Jack from Cartoon Court, Borg Collective Trooper, Vash the Stampede and Wolfwood, Sniper Wolf, The Tick, Batman, Distant Soil, The Flaming Carrot, Blue Fairy, Chii from Chobits, Neverending Story, Lexx, Imperial Stormtrooper, Snow Queen, Buddy Christ, Amidala, Princess Leia, Han Solo from Star Wars, Alien, Sun, Ash from Army of Darkness, Lara Croft from Tomb Raider, Lumpman from Jay and Silent Bob, Eowin, Boba Fett, Nightseeker, Bajoran from Star Trek, Poison Ivy, Deedlit from Record of Lodoss War, Symphony in Black and White, Sakura Taisen, Succubus, Two Pirates, Harley Quinn, Stitch vs. Duck Rogers of the 24th and a Half Century!, Senator Amidala, Doc Mojo, Desolation, NetherSpawn and monsters performing Summer Nights, Angel from X-Men, Lord of the Box Office, 3 Fairies from Cinderella, Spaceballs, Cinderella from Ever After, Red Riding Wolf, Middle Earth Confessions, Where the Wild Things Are, Unknown, Gandalf from Lord of the Rings, Necromancer, PacMan, and Lily from Legend.
