Never stopping at just
the cream of the crop, DragonCon also had many Special Events and fans plying their artistic
trade to offer to the always-on-the-go attendees. Special functions included Art Shows,
Walk of Fame in the Artist Alley, Iron Artist Competitions, Charity Events, Daily Dragon newsletters, and more. For those keeping track of celebrity
sightings, Honorees at the DragonCon Awards Banquet included Betty Ballantine, Lou "The
Hulk" Ferrigno, James "Spike" Marsters, Rowdy "Roddy" Piper, William
Stout and Raymond Thompson. The DragonCon Professional Championship Wrestling hosted
Triple X-treme Wrestling with DragonCon's NWA Heavyweight champions, midgets, and Tag Teams
featuring The Carolina Heartbreaker, Sirus, ICE, Kid Crash, Big Daddy, Jade Steel, FattyLuv,
The Storm Trooper, Rigor Mortis, Glacier, STD, Terry Knight, Slim J, Rain Man, DJ Fish, Murder
One, and Trinity. Atlanta Radio Theater featured hosts "Rory Rammer, Space Marshal:
The Meteor Surfers" by Ron N. Butler, "Can You Hear Me?" by Thomas E. Fuller,
and "The Island of Doctor Moreau" by H.G. Wells. And The Mighty Rassilon Art
Players held performances of Sherlock Holmes and the Crime of the Century. |
