Welcome to another edition of Linus Lam Network News for 2009!  This news report covers our trip to Anime USA 2009 for a huge weekend of anime and manga enjoyment and a whole lot more!  Held at the Hyatt Regency in Arlington, Virginia over the weekend of November 20-22, Anime USA 2009 saw lots of attendees ready to party on with a bunch of dedicated artists, live performances, gaming events, cosplay fun, and plenty of opportunities to hang out with fellow anime and manga fans. Our exciting trip to Anime USA 2009 starts here!  Coverage you can count on, here at Linus Lam Network News!

Highlights: Various live programming events kept the attendees well-covered throughout the weekend. Guests of Honor included Steve Blum, Michael Sinterniklaas, Leah Clark, J. Michael Tatum, Troy Baker, KAYA, Quaff, DJ Luminal, AppleGeeks, Paradox Lost, Johnny Wander, Dirk I. Triede, Yaya Han, Jo Chen, Allison Storm, Lori Collins, and GPX.  Big events included Anime Music Video Contest, Concerts, Cosplay Burlesque, Dances, Game Shows, Gear Master's Ball, Karaoke, Maid Cafe, Host Club, Otaku Swap Festa Paradise, and more. Panels and workshops included functions like Amazingly Obscure Anime You Should See, Anime Parliament, Anime Press Your Luck, Classic Yaoi, Comics for the Shoujo Fan, Convention Survival Guide, Cosplay is NOT Serious Business, Cosplay Pajama Party, Crime Fiction in Anime and Manga, Foam Weapons, Anime Fandom on the Road, How to Draw Yuri, Inside the Voice Actors Studios, J-Pop Videos, Lolita for the Uninitiated, Otaku TV, Planning for a Con, Poofy Dress Princess, Anime's Greatest Villains, Sailor Moon Celebration, Tokusatsu, Understanding Anime for Parents, Anime Name That Tune, Artist Portfolio Review, Cosplay Level Up!, Crossplay for Girls, Fandom Serious Business, Fanfiction, Geek Tech: Red Ring of Death, How to Draw Manga, World of Warcraft, Modern Mythology, Storyboarding, and lots more.
Cosplay: This year's trip to Anime USA saw lots of inspired costumes from numerous anime and manga characters and more! Chart-topping displays for this year included characters from Ah! My Goddess!, Final Fantasy, Soul Eater, Persona 4, Gurran Lagaan, Code Geass, Dragonaut, Macross Frontier, Black Butler, and much more!
