 Opening Ceremonies: Not your usual lecture hall! OC started
Anime Overdose 2004 off with illustrious introductions of the guests of honor coming all the way from Japan and from nearby Santa Clara county. Guests included: Carl Macek (Robotech: creator, Lady Death The Movie: writer/director), Yuriko Fuchizaki (Sakura Taisen: Li Kouran voice, Utena: Anthy voice), Hirofumi Murasaki (Sega Japan football team coach), Saki Nimiya (Cyberfront Japan), Gilles Poitras (Anime Essentials author), Fred Patten, and more. |

| Cosplay Overdose: Cosplay contest night was in full gear by the
evening time a cosplayers near and far came to compete or just watch their friends have a blast on the stage with lotsa skits and neat walk-ons. Guest performance act opened with Maiyu singing the openings to a few popular anime shows. Cosplay walk-ons included characters from FLCL, Chobits, Azumanga Daioh, Grandia II, Trigun, Sweet Fairy Sugar, The Big O, Digi Charat, Excel Saga, Fruits Basket, Tenchi Muyou, Gundam Wing, One Piece, Tokyo Mew Mew, Final Fantasy, Sailor Moon, Naruto, Darkstalkers, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Sakura Taisen, Inuyasha, and more. Skit highlights included: Vash and Woldwood from Trigun doing magic trick stunts, Azumanga Daioh characters singing happy birthday tunes, a wacky Zell and Tidus show with various characters from the Final Fantasy world, Furi Kuri getting their groove with Hot Yaoi Action, a Sugar High rush with invasion of Inuyasha and Kenshin in a crazy Final Fantasy world, Digi Charat's Dejiko doing the looney tunes Victory-nyo-nyo!, improv by Gandalf the Great, Gomu Gomu no Cosplay presenting Naruto vs. Pokemon with guest star William Hung, Dark Magic Productions with world's most dangerous class of martial arts, No Duh's Sakura Taisen cosplay team teaching Ohgami how to dance better, Fruits Basket characters ahring con stories, and Ghetto Fighters from Darkstalkers, Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter Alpha 3 presenting their combo moves.
