Panels and Workshops 3

Resin Kits: With examples of kits of characters and mecha from shows like Trigun and Gundam, resident modeling panelist and specialists gathered together to talk about airbrushing techniques, use of highlights, assemblage with pins, good epoxy glues, and proper shading techniques. Martial Arts Demonstration: While not able to attend their amazing martials arts demonstration due to time conflicts, encountering three spirited members of the team was certainly a delight as they promoted their demonstration and panels for fans who have interests in the exciting world of martial arts.
Go Go Power Rangers!: Bring back the valley girl stereotypes and old characters and you've got a winning show?  Panelists of the phenomenal Power Rangers television spectacle shared their opinions and gave highlights on new mechas, new characters, a reunion of the old characters, and basically keeping the Go Go! spirit alive and well. Ethics of Anime Fandom: As we move into the digital realm of high technology, are we losing focus on creation integrity?  Have ethics been passed up by high technology?  Panelists spoke forth about these and many other issues regarding hand drawn original art vs. copied fan art, values in permanence, outbursts of plagiarism in fan fictions, electronic reproductions, and fan fiction and fan art piracies.
The Art and Lore of Samurai Blades: Fred Kay, a collector of antique swords, gave an intensive lecture to a very packed room on the traditional use, status, and care of Samurai swords, both in reality and in myths.  Topics included symbolism and projected beliefs in blade art, styles of blade and handle art, studies of Zen Buddhism, warriors with no fear of death, swords used as badges of authority under a ruling emperor, and the need for frequent cleaning and polishing.
