Welcome to another edition of Linus Lam Network News for 2011!  This news report covers our trip to Anime LA 2011 for a huge weekend of anime and manga enjoyment and a whole lot more!  Held at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles over the weekend of January 7-9, Anime LA 2011 saw lots of attendees ready to party on with a bunch of dedicated artists, live performances, gaming events, cosplay fun, and plenty of opportunities to hang out with fellow anime and manga fans. Our exciting trip to Anime LA 2011 starts here!  Coverage you can count on, here at Linus Lam Network News!

Highlights: Various live programming events kept the attendees well-covered throughout the weekend. Guests of Honor included Helen McCarthy, Gina Biggs, Patrick Seitz, Taliesin Jaffe, and Tadao Tomomatsu.  Big events included Cosplay Fashion Show, Scavenger Hunt, Rum Party, Dances, Band Performances, Cosplay Chess, Cosplay Contest, Anime Music Videos, Anime Trivia Contests, Karaoke, and Guest panels. Panels and workshops included functions like Con Going 101, Kuro Shiro Battle, Budgeting Anime Cons 101, Sewing Skills, Convention Photography 101, Storyboarding for Animation, Japanese Action Figures, Voice Acting Tricks of the Trade, Reporting Anime Conventions, Cosplay 101, Props and Accessories, Cinema Appreciation, Team Fortress 2, Kung Fu Weapons, Anime Olympics, Script Writing, Buried Treasures of Anime, Trips to Japan, Gundam and Resin Model Building, Touhou Dance Workshop, Make-up for Cosplay, Anime Podcasting, Convention War Stories, Anime Clubs, Voices in Video Games, Artist Sketch Jam, Rise and Fall of the OAV, Anime Fandom Before the Internet, Origami, Para Para Dance, Costumers Living with Cats, Kendo Demonstration, Anime Radio Theater, Wig Styling for Cosplay, Costume Clinic, Haiku, and lots more.
Cosplay: This year's trip to Anime LA saw lots of inspired costumes from numerous anime and manga characters and more! Chart-topping displays for this year included characters from Panty and Stocking, Hetalia, Soul Eater, Baccano, Umineko, Bleach, Pokemon, Black Butler, Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, and much more!

Miscellaneous: From Artists Alleys to Art Shows, Interactive Gaming events to Video Screening rooms, Anime Music Videos to casual conversations with esteemed Guests of Honor, shopping inside the Dealers Hall to Charity events, you can always find something to do at Anime LA.  Nice extras included a cosplay repair station, Parent's Lounge, Hall Cosplay awards, Cosplay Photo Studio, Manga Lounge, Costume Exhibit, Con Suite, AniMaid Cafe, and lots more.
