your badge and program book and let's get started! Lots to see and
do at Project A-kon 2006 this year with numerous Guests of Honor to meet
and get autographs from, panels and
workshops to attend, live events to enjoy, and even activities to
participate in. Many activities included scavenger hunts, Kabuto
simulated fighting, modeling contest, Art Show, Art Auction, watching
J-Pop in the dedicated J-pop/Rock room, EGL Tea Parties, Anime Music
Videos showcased in the Main Events hall, and of course, who can forget
the rooms and rooms of video programming show all the latest releases of
anime! Concerts held throughout the weekend included Kristine Sa,
KOTOKO, Penicillin nano, and Chrome-lodeon, followed by the big A-kon
dance hosted by DJ Void. More big events included Vic Mignogna's
Full Metal Fantasy, the 2006 Robotech Convention Tour, Steve Bennett's Cel
Painting Extravaganza, screening of The Brunch Club, Karaoke OK!, ninja
fighting demonstration hosted by Austin Bujinkan Tanemaki Dojo, Real World
Anime Audtions, Texas Sumo Wrestling, and more. Panels and workshops
held in the upstairs rooms included TONS of subject such as web comics,
cosplay, writing for games, painting demonstration, manga coloring
techniques, voice acting, Para Para dance demos, Iron Artist, Dollfie Meet-ups, writing techniques, and lots more. |
