Welcome to another edition of Linus Lam Network News for 2009!  This news report covers our trip to Anime Expo 2009 for a huge weekend of anime and manga enjoyment and a whole lot more!  Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California over the weekend of July 2nd-5th, 2009, Anime Expo 2009 saw over 44,000 attendees ready to party on with a bunch of dedicated artists, live performances, gaming events, cosplay fun, and plenty of opportunities to hang out with fellow anime and manga fans. Our exciting trip to Anime Expo 2009 starts here!  Coverage you can count on, here at Linus Lam Network News!

Highlights: Various live programming events kept the attendees well-covered throughout the weekend. Guests of Honor included Hiroyuki Imaishi, Daisuke Ishiwatari, Yun Kouga, Yosuke Kuroda, Seiji Mizushima, Moi dix Moi, Toshimichi Mori, Toshiyuki Morikawa, Morning Musume, Yasuhiro Nightow, Atsushi Nishigori, Satoshi Nishimura, Takashi Okazaki, and Kari Waklgren.  Big events included AX Idol, Anime Music Videos, Masquerade Cosplay Contest, and Morning Musume Concert.  Additional events included Chibi Masquerade, Midnight Tea, Masquerade Ball, PopShock Masquerade, Animaid Cafe, Anime Singled Out, Anime Trivia Shows, AX Last Comic Standing, Battle of the Bands, Karaoke Contest, Modeling Contest, and lots more.  Panels and workshops included functions like Origami, AMV 101, J-Rock Revolution, Visual Kei, Gundam Model Building, Anime and Manga Studies, Giant Robot Rumble, Manga as High Art, Voice Acting Workshop, Photoshop Coloring, Coloring with Copic Markers, Shojo Manga, ParaPara Dancing, Japanime Belly Dancing, How to Draw Manga, Power Rangers, Fanfiction Writing, Anime and Manga in Academia, Z-Brush Sculpting, Japanese Traditional Dance, Gaia Online, Japanese Car Tuning, Breaking into Anime Journalism, and lots more.
Cosplay: This year's trip to Anime Expo 2009 saw lots of inspired costumes from numerous anime and manga characters and more! Chart-topping displays for this year included characters from Hetalia, Macross Frontier, Vocaloid, Fire Emblem, Gundam 00, Black Butler, Tora Dora, Code Geass, Avatar, Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Bleach, Gurran Lagaan, and much more!
