Welcome to another edition
of Linus Lam Network News for 2008! This news report covers our trip
to Anime Expo 2008 for a huge weekend of anime and manga enjoyment and
a whole lot more for 2008! Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California
over the weekend of Los July 3rd-6th, 2008, Anime Expo 2008 saw over
43,000 attendees ready to party on with a bunch of
dedicated artists, live performances, and plenty of opportunities to hang
out with fellow anime and manga fans. Our exciting trip to Anime Expo

| Highlights: Various live programming events kept the attendees well-covered throughout the weekend. Big events included
the Masquerade, Anime Music Videos, AX Idol, Jyukai and Shoko Nakagawa in
Concert, Anime Trivia Game Shows, Art and Charity Auctions, Karaoke, and Guest panels.
Guests of Honor included Akemi Takada, David Hayter, Toshihiko Seki, Jyukai, Masahiro Ando, Masamitsu Hidaka, Shoko Nakagawa, and Hiromi Kato. Panels and workshops included functions like
anime journalism, anime and manga in academia, anime figure model
building, voice acting workshops, anime in China, cosplay 101, anime and
gaming, making anime music videos, how to draw manga, introduction to
robot anime, paranormal Japan, fanfiction writing, cosplay life drawing
workshop, advanced ParaPara dancing, J-rock, and lots more. |

This year's trip to Anime Expo
saw lots of inspired costumes from numerous anime and manga characters and more! Chart-topping displays for this year included characters from
Vocaloid, Gurran Lagaan, Disgaea, DGrayMan, Sailor Moon, Bleach, Final
