AX2000 officially opens!

More panels than you can shake a stick at!  Many attendees found it difficult to go to all of them even across four whole days.

The AX2000 SPJA Art Charity Auction reeled in over $68,000 for the City of Hope with top winning bids of $5200 for a Creamy Mami color sketch by Ms. Takada, $2200 for El Hazard's Ifurita color sketch by Mr. Nakazawa, $3750 for an Ayashi no Ceres sketch by Ms. Watase, $2500 for a color sketch of Patlabor's Noa Izumi by Ms. Takada, $2000 for a color sketch of Trigun's Vash the Stampede by Mr. Hayama, $2850 for an Ayashi no Ceres sketch by Ms. Watase, $3500 for a color sketch of Nadesico's Ruri-chan by Mr. Gotoh, $2800 for a color sketch of Utena by Ms. Saito, $2000 for the exclusive AX stamps bearing the image of Kimagure Orange Road's Madoka by Ms. Takada, and ended with a monstrous winning bid of $16,000 for a color sketch of Kimagure Orange Road's Madoka by Ms. Takada (shown right).

Donations ran aplenty here at AX2000, and with great cause towards healing the ill-stricken, the Guests of Honor have all responded in kind with fabulous donations to the City of Hope with a check totaling $21,427 shown at Opening Ceremonies.  Proceeds will go towards much-needed research and care provided by the City of Hope Foundation.

Exhibit Hall at the busiest time of the AX four-day weekend.  Bigger, better, and just plain huge.  HUGE!!!
