Anime Central 2007!
 

Welcome to another edition of Linus Lam Network News for 2007!  This news report covers our trip to Anime Central 2007 for a huge weekend of anime and manga enjoyment and a whole lot more for 2007!  Held at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare and Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois over the weekend of May 11-13th, 2007, Anime Central 2007 saw lots of attendees ready to party on with a bunch of dedicated artists, live performances, and plenty of opportunities to hang out with fellow anime and manga fans. Our exciting trip to Anime Central 2007 starts here!  Coverage you can count on, here at Linus Lam Network News!

Highlights: Various live programming events kept the attendees well-covered throughout the weekend. Musical Guests included High and Mighty Color, Spiral Spiders, PLID, and Voices For.  Japanese Guests of Honor included Sunao Katabuchi, Hiroshi Kojina, Masao Maruyama, Yuko Minaguchi, Yasuhiro Nightow, Shinichi Watanabe, and Noriyuki Zinguji.  American Guests of Honor included Christopher Ayres, Greg Ayres, Steve Bennett, Leah Clark, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Patrick Drazen, David Fleming, Tiffany Grant, Matt Greenfield, Kyle Herbert, Britteny Karbowski, Bruce Lewis, Robert McCollum, Mike  McFarland, Jamie McGonnigal, Jeffrey Moy, Philip Moy, AppleGeeks, Chris Patton, Brina Palencia, Xero Reynolds, Jan Scott-Frazier, Rikki Simmons, Tavisha Wolfgarth-Simons, Doug Smith, Spike Spencer, Studio Capsule, Robert and Emily Dejesus, Kirk Thornton, Michael Terracciano, Kari Wahlgren, Brett Weaver, Greg Weisman, and Travis Willingham.  But hey, this is Anime Central, and they do things a little differently around here!  So, Acen also announced special fan guest of honor Sailor Bubba.  Big events included Iron Artist Competition, Underground Groove, Soap Bubble: Relight My Fire!, Cosplay Contest, Anime Music Videos, Karaoke, and Guest panels. Panels and workshops included functions like voice acting, inking and painting, game shows, anime psychology, chat sessions with various Guests and Noted Fans, Industry Guests, and lots more.
Cosplay: This year's trip to Anime Central saw lots of inspired costumes from numerous anime and manga characters and more! Chart-topping displays for this year included characters from Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Air Gear, Legend of Zelda, Trigun, Tsubasa, Gundam Seed, Final Fantasy, Fate Stay/Night, and much more! Miscellaneous: From Artists Alleys to Art Shows, Anime Music Videos to casual conversations with esteemed Guests of Honor, shopping inside the Dealers Hall to participating numerous panels, you can always find something to do at Anime Central.  One of the cool things about Anime Central that makes it so special and always a pleasure to come back to is its charm.  It has a certain kind of delightful Midwestern charm coming from the fans and staffers who do this shindig every year, that can only be expressed through numerous functions like the ACen Auto Show, Para Para Workshops, casual onlookers smiling at the numerous costumes all day, and a large amount of participants at the Game Shows and Karaoke.
